Abstract

From these arrangements we will present an explanation about these changes at the municipal level. Thus, this work aims to present through official documents a brief history about early childhood education in the municipality of Sorocaba, the continued training of teachers for this stage from the enactment of Law 12.796/13 that proposes the mandatory early childhood education for children aged 4 and 5 years. The field of early childhood education as already exposed, gradually gains notoriety from the public sphere, with the changes to Law 12.796/2013 that amends the LDB 9394/96 making basic education (4 to 17) mandatory and highlights according to the PNE (2014) the obligation of municipalities to universalize this care by 2016. The continuing education of teachers is also an item contemplated by the same law, whose responsibility is the Union, Federal District, States and Municipalities.
