Abstract

This article is a part of a larger study on Educational Planning developed in municipalities in the metropolitan region of Sorocaba.  This research aims to identify studies and scientific research in the area of Education that deal with the monitoring and evaluation of Municipal Education Plans focused on the Southeast region of Brazil. This is a state of knowledge research that uses documentary analysis and critical description of the results, which demonstrated through the found and selected productions, a deficiency and scarcity with regard to the monitoring and evaluation of municipal education plans during its validity (2014-2024) in the Southeast region. The studies point to the need for a more participatory and democratic construction of educational planning, specifically the SME, so that its monitoring and evaluation are structured so that society has access to information.
