Abstract

Some songs that inhabit the scene of early childhood education in the past, or even nowadays, are full of meanings that, many times, the educators themselves are not aware, due to the naturalness with which these children's songs appear and are presented. the children. Singing these songs, they end up perpetuating a culture of power and submission that makes the child, little by little, assimilate their subordinate role within the school space and society, removing their autonomy and their leading role in the teaching and learning process. “Very quiet without talking”, “Mom won't like it”, “I'll close my mouth” are examples of songs that develop a feeling of submission and respect for authority, as imposed by the society of power in which we live. From the reflection on the strength of the songs and what they refer to, it is possible for the educator to review his role within the school space and rebuild the relationships and interactions with children, who are in the process of integral formation and development of social relationships.
