Abstract

This article is part of the first stage of the research entitled "Educational Planning: monitoring and evaluation of municipal education plans in the metropolitan region of Sorocaba", whose objective is to analyze the actions of the bodies responsible for monitoring and evaluating the Municipal Education Plans of the Metropolitan Region of Sorocaba/SP, regarding their forms and results found regarding the understanding of the work agenda,  monitoring and evaluation flows and referrals to correct those flows. In this first stage, the theme will be researched in all Brazilian regions, based on the research of the State of Knowledge type and this article addresses the theme focusing on the Northern Region of Brazil. This research is of fundamental importance for a better understanding of the monitoring and evaluation of municipal education plans, as well as may support other research in relation to the need for public educational policies.
