Abstract

This study aims to analyze, through a comparative study, the theoretical-practical implications on the development of children in their first year of life, based on the Historical-Cultural and Pikler-Lóczy approaches. It is bibliographical theoretical research, through a comparative study of historical-cultural approaches and the Pikler-Lóczy perspective, based on the central category of analysis: child and development. The results show that in each perspective, it is possible to observe a baby's conception and development, resulting in the way we interpret and explain learning, the relationship with space, the role of the adult and acting with objects. We conclude that these approaches present similarities and differences in the way they interpret children and development and bring contributions to reflect on pedagogical practices with babies.
