Abstract

This study presents how the development of the Nervous System occurs since conception, the interference of the environment in this development, and how neurosciences relate to the teaching practice in Early Childhood Education. It constitutes qualitative research based on aspects related to neurological development in intrauterine children and early childhood, since it corresponds to the age group of Early Childhood Education, data collected through a bibliographic review based on authors in the area of Neurosciences, in addition to current legislation, such as the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC, 2017), which is the Brazil's national common curricular base - or also known as "Common Core" Curriculum. The data presented indicate that neurological formation begins even before the birth of the child, as well as the formation of synapses, and that, after birth, the structure, and brain functions are influenced by the environment, reinforcing the idea that teaching practice in Early Childhood Education contributes significantly to neurodevelopment.
