Abstract

The study aims to present the perceptions of indigenous leaders about the influences in their training process, capable of contributing to the construction of the profile of ethnic representation and greater political engagement. In this writing we will study indigenous education, understood by the non-schooled configuration, which is inserted in the universe of knowledge and experiences in the social, ethical-evaluative and intercultural dimensions of indigenous movements. Regarding the methodological approach, this is narrative research, carried out through semi-structured interviews with six indigenous leaders from Amapá and northern Pará, both states located in the Brazilian Amazon. Starting from the narratives of the indigenous people, the results showed common points of the training process permeated by/in indigenous education, such as: observation, interest, counseling, affection for the community, the ability to consider the diversity of opinions and the need to maintain the representation of its people outside the villages, as a symbol of resistance and existence and for the struggle for rights.
